wellnessMost people don't fail at getting healthier because they lack willpower. They fail because they tried to change nine things at once in January. Here is a more realistic way to go about it.

Almost everyone we meet has already tried. They have started before, often several times, and it went well for two or three weeks before life reasserted itself. By the time they are sitting across from us, many of them have concluded the problem is their own discipline. It usually is not.
The typical fresh start involves overhauling how you eat, adding exercise five days a week, fixing your sleep, and cutting out several things you enjoy, all beginning Monday. It works beautifully for a couple of weeks, because motivation is genuinely high at the start. Then a busy week arrives, one piece slips, and because it was an all-or-nothing structure, the whole thing goes. That is not a character flaw. It is a design flaw.
Sometimes the reason it is not working has nothing to do with your effort. Energy, sleep, stress, and a range of underlying health factors all affect how much capacity you have to change anything. Telling someone who is exhausted to simply try harder is not advice, it is just pressure. If you have been genuinely consistent and are not seeing what you would expect, that is worth actually looking into rather than pushing harder against.
We start by understanding where you actually are, what you have already tried, and what your days genuinely look like. Then we build something realistic around that, and adjust as we go. Not a program you either complete or fail, but a plan that fits the life you have. Individual results vary, and every plan follows an in-person evaluation with a licensed provider.
If you have started over more times than you would like to admit, you are in good company, and it is a perfectly reasonable place to begin a conversation.
